Beginner Wheel Throwing Classes

$375.00

Learn how to make pottery from start to finish using the potter’s wheel!

Our beginning classes are perfect for students with no clay experience and those getting back into clay after a long hiatus. Learn the basics of throwing clay on the potter’s wheel: wedging, centering, opening, pulling walls. In this challenging & rewarding process, you will learn to throw cylinder forms & bowl forms, trim feet, and glaze your pieces.

Each class series meets once per week for 5 weeks.

  • Weeks 1-4: Working in wet clay on the potter’s wheel. We will learn how to prep clay, throw small forms like cups and bowls, and trim.

  • Week 5: Glazing (finished work can be picked up approximately 3-4 weeks after final session)

Enrollment fees include clay, use of studio tools, shop glazes, and firings.

All wet clay work must be completed during the first 4 weeks of class.

**Please carefully review the session dates prior to checking out as missed classes cannot be refunded or made up once the series begins.
